Running the Orchestra
Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra is a wholly Independent Youth Orchestra, which means we are not reliant on Government funding or grants, but are completely dependent on our own fund raising and subscriptions to keep the orchestra running. In our 64 years in existence, it has been through the dedication and efforts of members, family and friends that the orchestra has continued to survive and thrive.

- Friends and family
Without the support and help of friends and family, Stoneleigh could not survive. We have a well trained army of chaperones who sit in on rehearsals in case of any emergency; cake bakers who organize regular cake sales; informal PR network who spread the word about the orchestra and ensure leaflets get into interested hands; wardrobe managers who ensure the orchestras’ appearance is impeccable for concerts and tours; music librarians who ensure one of the most precious of our assets, the music, is kept in order; the list of jobs is endless and every bit of help is appreciated by all of us who love the Orchestra.
